Who is Goldenbear: A Five-Part Series.

What can Goldenbear do for me?

Don’t take our word for it!

Do you have any celebrity endorsements

Who does Goldenbear work for?

Chris Keener

Aka: ob, original bear, man with the megaphone

Chris Keener, aquarius, and principal of Goldenbear, has been producing and directing broadcast quality video and films in the DC area for the past 5 years, and working in the industry bi-coastally for a lucky 13. He has contributed in the commercial, feature, television, and documentary world, and has been prowling the online sphere since youtube was more of a thin straw.

Chris is passionate about kids, elders, and infusing the space in between with humor and heart. He's currently in development of his first feature film.

Matt Tanski

Aka: Tandolf, Pants Guy

Matt Tanski, editor, and motion graphics for Goldenbear, hails from the North and traveled south to pursue the adventure of film making. Matt got his start in Detroit working with national accounts at a digital advertising shop, and moved to Washington DC in 2010.

His contributions to Goldenbear include audio and video editing, motion graphics, and original music composition.

Ian Fay

Aka: The guy in the suit who gets things done

Ian Fay has been in the intelligent entertainment business since he was five.  With roots in music, both classical and rock n’ roll, his ultimate instrument was his computer. Falling into the Internet craze in 1995, web, media, and video has been at the forefront of his creative endeavors. Since moving to Washington, DC in 2006, the immersion of communication and information visualization became the niche.  Ian formed compatriot company Saint Gorilla to envelop these ambitions and has since entered the market as a leader in video infographics and viral narratives within the social media space.

Ian Fay

Jameise Rozier

Aka: The Ally-maker, The Facebookworm

A marketing grad of the GWU School of Business, Jameise brings a youngin's firm grasp of the social mediasphere to Bear. She's an organizational powerhouse, and in her free time can be found planning large events, small cocktail parties, or the upcoming week of edits. Her keen eye keeps us honest on set, her firm handshake helps seal the deals, and her fashion sense keeps us guessing.

Nick Fitzhugh

Aka: The Closer, Fitz

Nick is a Goldenbear go-to for projects big and small. He can talk his way into or out of almost anything. He's got a golden eye for shooting, a masterful grasp of story, and follow-through that would make Arnie Palmer hang it up for good.

Founder of Glimpse, which later became National Geographic Glimpse, he's also the principal of redfitz productions. He collaborates with us as a dp and producer, focusing on powerful, engaging story.

Rob Shore

Aka: Words Guy

Rob Shore is history's only successful alchemist. How'd he do it? He simply convinced lead of it's mediocrity. Born in the deep south and fully formed in the far east, Rob has become an enlightened redneck in two cultures; on purpose and on fire. Rob spends his days turning big ideas into pretty pictures and political levers at a boutique think tank in Washington, DC. Late at night and on weekends, he helps write the bones of the Goldenbear zombies that haunt your dreams and want at your brains

Arcade Sunshine Media

Our dear friends at Arcade Sunshine Media are experimenting with new forms of narrative and storytelling – bringing text to life through multi-media books. Though they're excited to be part of this brave new frontier, their apps are really about something far more primitive: great storytelling. GBear is currently in development with Arcade Sunshine on a few exciting multi-media projects. arcadesunshine.com

BlueCadet Interactive

Bluecadet is a studio concerned with crafting a client’s story and connecting it to its desired audience. They bring talented designers, technologists, journalists, and artists together to create innovative technology that excites and engages users. Their work has garnered numerous awards and recognition including an Emmy, Webby, SXSW award, and an AAM Muse, along with highlights in the HOW and CommArts Interactive Annuals. And they made our incredible Goldenbear website. From scratch. bluecadet.com

Erik Loften

Erik is our baddest-ass motion GFX and design partner. His work for NBC’s Meet the Press blows our mind every Sunday morning, as does every other project he wraps his massive mind around.  Blood, sweat and years of Cinema 4D and After Effects training make up his arsenal. We’ve worked with Erik on numerous projects for fun and clients alike. erikloften.com

Joe Moccia

Motion Designer Joe Moccia combines artistic vision, design discipline, half a cup of madness, and a home-grown sequential sensibility in a large bowl, and lets it set for 10 minutes. Then, he uses it to execute finely-tuned motion design that can support or carry any story or tone. He also draws strange creatures and robots on lined notebook paper. With over 5 years in the television industry and several more in the design industry, he is still 'just gettin' warmed up'. joe-moccia.comjoemoccia.wordpress.com

Joshua Cogan

Josh is one of the best new media guys in the biz, and a great collaborator for the GBear. An Emmy, SXSW, and Webby award-winning photographer, videographer, and anthropologist, he's shot in over 30 countries for networks, ad agencies, and non-profits. We love conjuring the spirits of travel with him whenever we can. joshuacogan.com

Nathan Golon

Nathan Golon is an independent filmmaker based in Washington, DC, and a go-to cinematographer for the GBear. Since completing a degree in journalism at Boston University, he has directed, produced, and photographed stories around the world focusing on humanitarian issues including the legacy of war, HIV/AIDS, child and maternal health, girl’s education, and climate change. To view examples of his work, visit nathangolon.com

redfitz productions

Human stories for a small world. redfitz productions is a visual storytelling production company led by Nick Fitzhugh that strives to find powerful and transformative true to life stories and leverage some of the best creative talent to share them in ways that bring them to life for anyone courageous enough for the experience. We've worked with redfitz on narrative and nonfiction alike, and have a lot in the cooker. Check out in-house productions distributed by the likes of NatGeo, The New York Times, and ESPN Classic at redfitz.com

Think Out Loud

Think Out Loud (TOL in webspeak) is an award-winning media production company that produces original content for the web and broadcast. We have partnered with them on projects big and small, and are proverbial peas in a pod. tolproductions.com

AARP

We produce short documentary videos and special-interest pieces that are seen by their massive membership base. The topics range from social security to tracing family history to eco-friendly living.

The Corcoran

We handle The Corcoran Gallery of Art and College of Art + Design's promotion for upcoming exhibits and past shows by filming short documentaries and exhibition highlights, and profiling acclaimed artists like Easweard Muybridge and Chuck Close. Our video on their 30 Americans exhibit, which showcased important African-American artists, brought millions of hits in Web traffic.

Discovery

The GBear works with Discovery Production Group to produce and shoot pitch reels for shows in development.

Lonely Planet

We produce, shoot and edit destination videos for the largest travel guide publisher in the world. Fun Fact: Chris was brought on as 'The Voice of Lonely Planet' to voice over a good chunk of their online canon.

NatGeo Channel

We produced an 11-part Web series on the Camino de Santiago in Northern Spain, helped produce and shoot the pilot for the NG Wild hit TV show “My Life is a Zoo” and produced original and adapted video content for NationalGeographic.com.

Pulsar Advertising

We worked with Pulsar to co-conceptualize and produce their campaign for Arlington’s Car-Free Diet. The sketch comedy Web series started with a user-generated contest and profiled the challenges people faced of going without a car for 30 days. We’re now entering Season 4 and still going strong. We’ve taken home two shiny Silver-Telly advertising campaign awards and the GBear is hungry for more…

Smirnoff | BYT

Unsurprisingly, the popular vodka brand sponsors great events (hosted by the media mavens at Brightest Young Things) and we’ve covered several in D.C. The mission is simple: transform massive, raucous, goodtime events into massive, raucous, goodtime promotion.

Travel Channel

We’ve produced, shot and edited international destination videos in Spain, Las Vegas and various places in the American South. We also post-produced and edited the Webby-nominated series “Behind the Shot,” which highlighted the work and adventures of Travel Channel photographer Joshua Cogan.

VitaminWater

In 2011, the brand hosted a nation-wide tour of parties and threw a month-long event at a warehouse in D.C. We were there to document the transformation of a vacant space into a live art gallery and music venue. The party drew 21,000+ people, 2200 likes and comments on Facebook and 4,804 mentions on Twitter. We partnered with local event/media powerhouse Brightest Young Things.

VVMF for HBO

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund is a non-profit that was originally established to finance the construction of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall. The Education Center at the Wall is its latest initiative. We produced a series of PSA’s and short stories, in association with HBO, to raise awareness and generate donations for the Center. Groundbreaking of the Center is expected this year.

WWICS

The Woodrow Wilson Center is a special place and the legacy of our only president with a PhD. For this non-partisan think-tank, we produce high-profile videos that are used for their fundraising efforts. Some of our interviewees include James Baker, Madeline Albright, John Negroponte, David Robinson, Lee Hamilton and Cokie Roberts.
